The employer provides efficiency apartments above the restaurant. Students can expect to share a room with at least one other person depending on the size of the room. Also, employer tries to house friends travelling together in the same apartment but she only has 2 large apartments and the rest of smaller rooms. There is cable TV, the internet, all utilities included and laundry room on site. The employer charges 90.00 per week that is deducted from the paycheck. She also charges a 200.00 deposit (can be deducted from the check) that is refunded when the student has met their agreed upon assignment time and leaves the room clean and undamaged. The building is located in the middle of town, students can walk to almost all of the attractions including NY’s largest water park, shopping, beach, theatre, hiking, etc. Use this space below for any additional comments that would be helpful in choosing your students. For example, put here your specific requirements, namely English proficiency, knowledge of additional languages, work experience, skills, preferred country of origin, your attitude to hiring groups of friends, couples, and the flexibility of working dates. We are very mindful of creating a good environment for our students where they can learn and enjoy American culture. Outstanding work ethic is rewarded with either a pay raise or bonus. We are very busy in the summer so there are a lot of available work hours. We also feel it is important that the students have sufficient breaks and time off to enjoy some of the activities our town offers. It is important to us that this is a mutually beneficial program for both the student and the employer. We have enjoyed having international students join our team in the past. We encourage our regular employees to mentor the students and to also show them around and take them shopping or wherever they would like to go.

We encourage our regular employees to mentor the students and to also show them around and take them shopping or wherever they would like to go.Nearest Airport is Syracuse, NY Most students fly into NYC.Usually, students arrive in NYC from there they take train to Utica, NY and from there we can either arrange to pick up if they arrive at a normal time, we have found due to late night arrivals and uncertain times of arrival it is easier for the student to take a cab from Utica to Old Forge, NY, this is about a 50 min ride and costs between 75-110.00 If this is a hardship for the student we can waive student lodging for the first week to offset the cost. There are trains and buses that run to Utica, NY which is the closest city. The cab is the only way to get to Old Forge outside of one train that only runs once a week. We take the student to the social security office shortly after they arrive to apply for the number. They are required to have the proper paperwork to obtain social security number before they start work.The restaurant work experience is required.
